1. Overview
AssessX is an AI-powered assessment platform used by educational institutions to manage exams, grading, and academic evaluations.
User accounts are created and managed by the subscribing organization (e.g., university, college, or school).
This policy explains how users can request the deletion of their account and associated data, in compliance with
Apple App Store, Google Play Store, GDPR, and other applicable data protection regulations.
2. Who Can Request Account Deletion
The following parties may request account deletion:
- Individual Users (Students, Instructors): Any user can request deletion of their own account at any time.
- Organization Administrators: Administrators can request deletion of accounts within their organization.
- Parents/Guardians: For users under 18, a parent or legal guardian may request account deletion on their behalf.
3. How to Request Account Deletion
You can request account deletion through any of the following methods:
3.1 Contact Your Organization
Since AssessX accounts are managed by your educational institution, the fastest way to request deletion is to
contact your organization's administrator directly. They can initiate the deletion process on your behalf.
3.2 Email Request
Send an email to info@scalexi.ai with:
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your full name
- The email address associated with your account
- Your organization/institution name
3.3 In-App Request
If available in your version of the app, navigate to Settings > Account > Delete Account
to submit a deletion request directly.
4. What Happens When You Request Deletion
Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we follow this process:
- Verification (1-3 business days): We verify your identity and confirm the request with your organization if applicable.
- Processing (up to 30 days): Your account and personal data are permanently deleted from our active systems.
- Confirmation: You will receive an email confirming that your account has been deleted.
5. Data That Will Be Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:
- Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, profile picture
- Authentication Data: Password, login history, session tokens
- User Preferences: Settings, notification preferences, language preferences
- Device Information: Device tokens, push notification identifiers
6. Data That May Be Retained
Important: Some data may be retained after account deletion for legal, regulatory, or legitimate educational purposes.
The following data may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form:
- Academic Records: Exam scores, grades, and assessment results may be retained by the institution as required by educational regulations and accreditation requirements. These records will be disassociated from your personal identity.
- Anti-Cheating Records: Records of academic integrity violations may be retained as required by institutional policy.
- Legal Obligations: Data required to comply with legal, tax, or regulatory obligations.
- Aggregated Analytics: Anonymized, non-identifiable usage statistics used to improve the platform.
7. Impact of Account Deletion
Please be aware that once your account is deleted:
- You will no longer be able to log in to AssessX
- You will lose access to all exam results, feedback, and course materials
- Any pending or in-progress exams will be canceled
- This action is irreversible — deleted data cannot be recovered
- If you need to use AssessX again, your organization will need to create a new account for you
8. Organization-Managed Accounts
AssessX operates as a B2B (business-to-business) platform. User accounts are provisioned and managed by
subscribing organizations (universities, schools, and educational institutions). This means:
- Your organization is the data controller for your account data
- ScaleX Innovation (the developer of AssessX) acts as a data processor on behalf of your organization
- Your organization may have its own data retention policies that apply to your academic records
- We will coordinate with your organization to fulfill deletion requests
9. Deletion for Inactive Accounts
Accounts that have been inactive for more than 24 months may be automatically flagged for deletion.
Before any automatic deletion, we will:
- Notify the account holder via email (if available)
- Notify the organization administrator
- Provide a 30-day grace period to reactivate the account
10. Children's Accounts
For users under the age of 18, account deletion requests may be submitted by a parent, legal guardian,
or the educational institution. We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and
equivalent regulations in other jurisdictions.
11. Third-Party Data
When your account is deleted, we also request deletion of your data from third-party services used
by AssessX, including:
- Cloud storage providers (exam files, submissions)
- AI processing services (anonymized grading data)
- Push notification services (device tokens)
Third-party deletions are processed according to each provider's data deletion policies and timelines.
